Malls are built to provide a one stop for almost all daily use stuffs. Now they have become a lot more than shopping venues and turned into an inherent part of our lifestyle. Most of the big shopping malls are located in Asia. Malls are also a one of the best places for the college students to hangout. These are also a great attraction for window shopper as well as tourists. Some of them are so big that it requires a day just to tour the entire place. Here is the list of Biggest Malls in the World according to the total gross leasable area.

Berjaya Times Square is a skyscraper, located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It hosts hotels, residential tower, indoor amusement park and a shopping mall with the gross leasable area of 3.4 million square feet. The shopping complex has over 1000 shops and 65 food restaurants.

West Edmonton Mall covers an area of 3.7 million square feet. There are more than 800 stores and parking space for 20,000 vehicles. It also attracts one million shoppers every week. Other popular attractions include a shooting range, Gold’s gym, three radio stations and first Victoria Secret in Canada.

The mall housed the Dubai Aquarium and underwater zoo which attracts 5 million visitors in the first week of opening.

Jamuna Future Park was publicly opened on 6th September 2013 and located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is 4.1 million square feet in leasable gross area and houses more than 500 stores. To run the central air conditioning system, the mall has its own 45 MW power plant and WiFi internet for the public use.

This mall features the world’s biggest IMAX 3D screen and 2D also. It also features a hall for ice skating, ice hockey and an open hall for music concerts. The operators of the mall are planning to expand the area to 5.6 million square feet area by the end of 2017.

Mid Valley Megamall is a complex shopping mall located in Kuala Lumpur. It was opened on 20th November 1999, developed and owned by IGB group. The mall has 4.5 million square feet of area, including 1.7 million square feet leasable areas. It has 48,300 square foot convention center and a 646 room business hotel.

Isfahan City Center is a commercial and modern shopping mall located in Isfahan, Iran opened in 2012. It also has a 7-star hotel, amusement park, restaurants, cinema complex and hotel apartment. The mall was developed by Prestige Land Iran and has 4.55 million square feet of area. A total number of 5000 cars are parked at a time and has over 750 numbers of stores.

Central World is a shopping plaza in Bangkok, developed and owned by Central Pattana. The mall was opened in 1990 and has a gross leasable area of 4.6 million square feet. There were 400 dancing fountain heads towards the plaza. It also has a total number of 600 shops and parking space for 7000 cars.

The Persian Gulf Complex is a large shopping mall located in Shiraz, Iran. It is the world’s biggest mall in terms of the number of shops, with 2500 shops covering 4.8 million square foot area. The mall was developed by Royal Star International, opened in September 2011. It also has six cinema theaters, a bowling alley, indoor swimming pool and an outdoor amusement park.

In 2006 and 2007, 1 Utama was named the shopping complex of the year.

The mall represents seven cities or nation, including Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Venice, Egypt, Caribbean and California. Its include 25 meter statue of the Arc de Triomphe, 2.1 km canal and a 553 meters indoor outdoor roller coaster.
